Geli Cooks is named after ObiaGeli — the mother of Chef Ngozi, and the woman who first placed a wooden spoon in her daughter's hands. ObiaGeli was the kind of woman who cooked for the whole neighbourhood. Weddings, naming ceremonies, celebrations, gatherings — if there was an occasion, she was in the kitchen, and little Ngozi was right beside her.

Growing up, Chef Ngozi didn't just learn recipes. She absorbed something deeper — the way food could fill a room with warmth, the way a well-cooked pot of Ukwa could make strangers feel like family. As an adult, she found herself doing exactly what her mother had always done: finding occasions to cook, to gather people, to share.

That habit — that beautiful, unstoppable habit of feeding people with love — has now given birth to Geli Cooks. Abuja's new local food restaurant, bringing the flavors of home and heritage straight to your door. We cook with love, authenticity, and an immense pride in Nigerian cuisine.
